Yes, but as Dick Emery put it, it's all done in the best possible taste. I'd
have been as disappointed at Will not rising to the bait about the T&M as
Martin about the Ashton. No doubt others wind me up the same way about the
dangers of passing through Leicester. Ultimately a lot of this comes down to
personal preference, and though it seems to me that it's OK on a list like
this to talk about the canals you do and don't like, what I dislike is those
who write off a canal - any canal - on the basis that they've suffered some
unpleasantness on it at some time. On tghis basis we'd write off the whole
system since there's not a mile of it where something's not happened to
someone at some time.
