Its not good at the bottom of the flue, not high enough temperature. Works a treat at the top as do all the other HT silicone sealant. The way it "should" be done is fire cement at the bottom and silicone at the top. This allows movement of the flue and helps to prevent the fire cement cracking at the bottom. I suspect that many flues are done with cement top and bottom which usually leads to the bottom cracking, that and not having the correct collar for the flue join to the stove................... -- Julian Tether Barge Parglena e-mail: [email protected]
