I absolutely aggree that VfW is an obsolete standard. I only mentioned it because it was the standard when I developed the video module for iPath.
First, let me say that I feel that your iPath project and now the camera module are very clever ideas and could be an added value to the Care2x project.
Second, a correction is in order just to keep proprietary techno babble out: - VfW was, and is, a proprietary format, i.e., some company owns it and may change it whenever it wants to. It may even make it disappear and/or prohibit you from further usage.
That, as you see, is incompatible with the definition of "standard". So, please, for the sake of clarity lets not call "standard" or "de facto standard" something that is at the mercy of a commercial company.
