Hello Elpidio,
the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), as represented by
the President of the BSI did official decide to use the OTRS ticket
system all over Germany.
http://www.bsi.de/english/index.htm
The CERT-Bund ("Computer Emergency Response Team ") plans the
to provide emergencyteams with Open Source based software.
After i reviewed the new care2x version (Demo and CVS) i saw that you
do no more support OTRS in the second Generation of CARE2x.
In the "What's New" paper http://www.care2x.net/care2x/manuals/whats_new_2_0_0.htm
there is no information, that you dropped it. I saw you dropped yellow
List and British National Formulary (BNF).
I suggest if something is dropped in future to provide this
information in the What's New paper too.
Some additional information to the OTRS ticket system: Developement
start 2001. Programming in perl. Optimised Plattform Suse Linux.
Meanwhile running under the most plattforms also with windows. More
than 10000 known installations in companies.
German papers for eGovernment give the Notice of OTRS as
"Vorgangsbearbeitungssystem" This means in simple words a summary
of: Workflowmanagement, Workmanagement, Records Management,
Document-Management, Imaging, Archiving, Workgroup Computing, Document
Related Technologies, eForms, and view more. All is in summary as
online information availalable as DOMEA - Concept and SAGA
http://www.kbst.bund.de/-,176/DOMEA-Konzept.htm
http://www.kbst.bund.de/Anlage304417/Saga_2_0_en_final.pdf
These standards have a high relevance to EHR and should keep a view to
the upcoming standardisation also to the electronic health card
CARE2x in the old version have in combination with some developement
and a closer integration of OTRS system in combination with HXP the
potential to solve a lot of problems. This needs analysis, investment,
and a project planing. But the ROI should be clear in the future, not
only for Germany.
Maybe at Linuxday i have the posibility for some personal talk with
members of BSI.
I suggest not to drop the OTRS. That's independenent of your concerns
to me and the non communication strategy.
