Hi Victor, I strongly recommend using Xilinx's 14.7 release. Some people use Ubuntu 12.04 -- see https://casper.berkeley.edu/wiki/MSSGE_Setup_with_Xilinx_14.x_and_Matlab_2012b -- but as Dan says, life might be easier with a supported operating system...
