I do need the adjuster as she does race at times. The adjuster is removable; but, I am looking for an alternative, less complicated arrangement.

Isn't it removable? Bob Mann -------------- Original message -------------- From: "Lance Jones" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Howdy all! Hope you're having a great 4th o' July weekend. My boat has the standard, factory installed adjustable split back stay. One wire stay to each corner and the pulley system pinned in the middle of the transom. It works well; but, makes it hard to use the ladder which is right up the middle of the transom. Has anyone ever used a different type system that allows the center to be free? I have a system on my Capri 25 and on my C-22s that worked well with the adjustable portion being a series of blocks on one end and the line running through a block on the main back stay and going down to the other corner of the transom.
