Thanks, Mark. I'm designing a 52' (LOA-just 42' LOD) cold-molded schooner and will hopefully start construction next fall when we've sold our house and moved to Oriental, NC. I have access to a lot of good air-dried cypress, boards and timbers, and will use it for sheathing, decking, and some of the scantlings.

We only had the one keel and it's pretty much spoken for by a boatyard in Mobile. On the other hand that was some time ago and it's still here. Let me know when your coming and if I still have it , it's yours. In the mean while, I'll ask around for some more. What're you doing with the cypress? Mark Want to keep your WHOLE PAYCHECK? 'Sad' hardly does the pictures justice. I almost cried. And I noticed the other day you offered some lead to tf for his bulb, so I'm assuming you pulled the keel(s) from your scrap boat(s). Next year I'm going to be looking for a total of 5-5.5 tons of lead and I'd have a flatbed semi down in Louisianna anyway to pick up cypress, so if you still have a keel or two laying around I'll buy them. Or if you happen to hear of other Katrina wreckage that left behind some fairly clean lead, let me know. How's Gratis coming, by the way? Sad to say, My last "Katrina" Cat 27 is on her way to her final resting place.... the land fill. I have more than enough parts to rebuild Gratis and a few of you have helped my boats to live on as parts on your boats. To you, thanks! You have helped me in my project as I hope I have helped you in yours. BTW: I still have 2 "early" model foredeck hatches and an "early" model sliding companionway hatch...."going out of buisness sale"....cheap!...you pay the shipping and they're yours!
