Hey, Tim--I thought there was a mistake in your typing, so checked the class site and the rules are exactly as stated. Here's where I think there's an error: <<maximum chord is not to be greater than 2">>. The chord is the distance covered by any section of the keel/rudder/wing/etc. from fore to aft (as in "Keel foil is 13.5 root chord, 12 inches tip chord). Two inches has to be a mistake--either they mean max keel section thickness is not to be greater than 2", or maximum chord is not to be greater than 2 feet. Can you get an opinion on this?
Also, let me know your target speeds--where you might want to find yourself on a beam reach, and where you might like to be at about 45 degrees off the wind. That's the range where the keel design will most help or hinder you, and I can design for those speeds in those conditions. One other question--are you planning to have a daggerboard-type keel or fixed? Or, hey, canting? It's only 185 pounds max. And allowed. Don't see anyone else doing it, though. But...
