I'm not sure if you should but since my primaries are CST30s if I put just a
35 pound lean on the handle that's over 1,000 pounds. I recall a couple of
times really getting into it trying to flatten sails going to weather. 

And of course my infamous close call on the Columbia River was caused by
luffing to tighten a halyard, so now I tend to crank first.

Not to be argumentative or a Nasty A**..

But do you really put a Main Halyard under 1000 pounds of load ?  (StaSet 
specs say Over 3000 lbs tensile)
How  do you do that ?
I doubt if I can get more than half that.
I'd really like to know..

So say....IF...at 1.5 %   under 15% percent tensile.. wouldn't StaSet have a

lot less stretch ?

Is good ?
