My last post about Nav rules was in a way, a suggestion that you Don't have to 
have the Factory installed (or traditionally thought of).. 
Navigation Lights..
There are plenty of exceptions..

Before you pull the mast...  Think of rigging some "Long term, Temporary"   
Lights..
Such as...

Masthead light...   A lamp that can be seen at least a mile....from almost 
angle.. Maybe hanging from a Spreader ??
This lamp can be an  "ALL-ROUND"   and  double as an anchor light as well..


All in regulation by Inland/International Rule..

Something to ponder...

By the way.. Did you know that Anchor Light was once called....a "Riding Light" 
??  As in Riding At Anchor.
Neither terms are used in International/Inland Rules...
