Thanks Tim:

I wouldn't think of breaking a law to get the target numbers; just thought
that with all of the experience of the list members, someone would have
something that I could use as a baseline.

I read Dennis Connor's book "Sail like a champion", and he also mentioned
both polar charts and target speeds.
