Hi,

Another issue I ran into was that it wouldn’t install on my PC/server with an
AMD processor. I had to create CUCM, CUPS, CUC on an Intel based machine, then
copy it over after the install has completed.

You will also need to boot into a linux rescue mode and create two new folders
for the AMD architecture:

/lib/modules/cm_ipvms/2.6.9*.EL.athlon

Copy all of the files from:

/lib/modules/cm_ipvms/2.6.9.*.i686

to the directory you just created.

Where * = system kernel version (Run "uname -a" and "uname -p" to see what your
system kernel version is as well as the kernel type.)

Good luck!

I’ve not seen the issues with the processor speed so much as the kind and
number of processors. I would definitely try doing it with the following
spec’s:

Processors: 1
RAM: 2048 Mb
Hard Drive: 80 Gb SCSI
NIC: Single
OS Type: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4

Earl,
Thanks…I do have a HP DL380 G3 with ESX 3.5...I’ll try that…Have you seen any
issue with processor speed of the host box? The G3 I have has 2.8 Ghz
processors…the G4 has 3.4 Ghz…
I could install ESX3.5 on the G4 and try that as well..

I’ve never tried setting up CUPS on ESXi 4 before. I use ESX 3.5 and whenever
I create the image for CUPS, I’m using the 32-bit Red Hat Enterprise 4 option,
2GB RAM, and 80 GB hard drive (default SCSI type) and it pretty much works
flawlessly there. I’ve done this with both the base install image of 7.0.2 and
incorporating the 7.0.3 patch during installation and each seem to work pretty
well. Had been playing with 7.0.5 patch during install, but reverted back to
using 7.0.3 instead.

Team,
Has anyone run into an issue with installing CUPS on VMWare?
I’m installing CUPS on top of VMWare ESXi 4 on an HP DL380 G4 with 6 GB of RAM
and a 200GB of HD…
I did dual processors and dual 72 GB disks for the VM..I used the 64 bit Linux
option for the VM OS config..
It blows up on the post install script for the DB…
Thanks…
