James' "structure amplitude" A is given by A = -F(e^2/mc^2) cos(2theta) eq. 2.12 page 31 and he later refers to |F(hkl)| as the "geometrical structure factor" (page 32), before amending its definition to note that it ignores the effects of anomalous scattering.
