Aviation guys, am I all wet about the F35?

OK, the whole concept with the F35, if they can ever get it all working, is that is is NOT an airplane (singular). It is a SYSTEM of planes. So, each pilot can see what ALL the other aircraft in the region see. If one guy spots a new SAM site, he can mark it, and they ALL now know it is there. Some F35s can go "dark" and shut off their RADAR transmitter, and use other aircraft's transmitters to illuminate their target. All sorts of advanced stuff like that will make it a formidable system, but it all depends on a huge amount of software and communications systems to all work together.
