Yeah, I'd call Cox. I wouldn't mention the splitters, at least not until you
get a competent tech on the phone. I've had my cable bandwidth nosedive
occasionally and calling the company usually gets it fixed without a visit.

FWIW, here's my numbers from work (remember though that I'm on a university
connection even though my local switch is just 10BaseT):

2004-05-27 12:01:24 EST: 1764 / 3734
Your download speed : 1807096 bps, or 1764 kbps.
A 220.5 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed is much faster than down.. have you tweaked?
Your upload speed : 3824128 bps, or 3734 kbps.

Here's a couple from my history of tests at home:

      2004-03-06 18:47:27 Speed test @ dslreports-west1.speakeas 1304/113
kbps
      2004-03-03 20:22:43 Speed test @ ec 1935/65 kbps
