This is the reason I said "known-to-be gay or bisexual"... The premise
being that you would place yourself in someone else's shoes, as you
had suggested for others. It's not always easy. If everyone in the
area you're in knows you're gay, what do you do? Do you move? Okay...
what if everyone in the area includes all your friends and family
since childhood and you don't want to move? What if your own parents
physically abused if not nearly killed you for being gay? If given the
choice between killing yourself, living in a world that fears and
loathes you or leaving everything you know and love behind, what would
you do?
