Oh, not at all.  The whole idea is that they're supposed to talk you
into buying something that - in their parlance "You don't realize you
want yet".  You could make the argument that people that buy
subscriptions to People Magazine, commemorative plates and life
insurance from telemarketers are far *more* to blame for this mess than
the enablers themselves - much the same way that spammers do actually
get some tiny percentage of morons to actually buy enough herbal viagra
to make the venture profitable.
