It's a nice commentary, printed on a statue given to us by the French! It isn't the motto of the United States, although it seems some feel it should be. Next month, if we recieve another statue with a different phrase on it, do we then follow that one too? Perhaps, just perhaps, America is tired of getting all the wretched refuse from all the other countries. > Some of these people would have no place to go. You talk about > time, do we > have the time or the money to send these people home. If you had been kind enough not to forcibly remove homeless people from your property in the past, why does that mean you are responsible for them? They got here on thier own... > > The Constitution and the laws of this country do not apply only to US > citizens. While you have to be a citizen to vote or hold office, > you don't > have to be a citizen > > The reality here is that this is still America. America does not do these > things. We must not stereotype people in the eyes of the law. We must > assume people here on valid Visas, student or otherwise, are for their > stated purpose. If things look fishy then they should be investigated. Past tense... America also didn't have terrorists destroy thousands of people in bombings and attacks on our soil. In time, all things must change. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Get the mailserver that powers this list at http://www.coolfusion.com Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists
