At least that tried something new. Doom 3 looks INCREDIBLE. But the gameplay isn't anything to crow about. It's good, but still feels stale. Other games get heavy stories, but lack something else. There's just always something missing. I'd still rather play Half-Life than Doom3. I REALLY hope Half-life 2 can compare favorably with the original. The odd thing is that half-life really didn't do anything insanely better than others... I still can't say for absolute certain what it has that even after all these years still makes it the top of the heap.
