I know an IRR Army helicopter mechanic that is 45 and was recalled and sent to Florida for retraining and then training as a trainer. He was away for about 6 months and now he's back but the Army said they'd let him know within 18 months if and what his assignment would be. Most likely the 47 year old guy would get the exact same thing.
