The NBA, and all other professional leagues, can and do punish players for
domestic abuse or other crimes committed while out of uniform. In fact, if
you read the CBA i posted, any player found guilty of a felony is gauranteed
punishment by the league.

The NFL suspended Jamaal Lewis 4 games (or was it 2?) for pleading guilty to
felony charges completely unrelated to football.
