Actually the names of the people who are in charge of nuclear defense for the US are easy enough to come by... it's easy enough to get the name of the head of the FBI or the CIA for instance. Everybody knew who Hoover was (and now everybody knows what he liked to do in his spare time). Rumor abuonds, and it'd be easy enough, if any of them were members, to wave their hands at the accusation and say the group didn't exist.
