My family (multiple members of it) gets put in harms' way when the President (Clinton, both Bushes any president) decides to put troops on the ground or bombs in the sky. So thanks very much for your assumption, but you are (as with many things) mistaken, I cannot in good conscience support any decision that risks the life of my, or anyone elses, loved ones. That being said, I realize that they, and I at one time, made the decision to volunteer for service and that does mean that when they say go, you go. It does not mean I have to support the decision to send them. You have stated many times on this list that you support the actions of our current President and his decisions to go to war, yet when challenged to sign yourself up for action, you repeated have begged-off with "I'm too old to serve." IIRC you're 44, that means you were of optimal age to volunteer during Desert Storm. Did you? Hey Sam, if you're a conscientious objector there's no problem, but I suspect from your posts that you are not, now or then. And hey Sam, FWIW, though I doubt you care, my uncle, who is officially inactive (for 4+ years) from the Reserves, is 50 years old and recently got a recall notice and orders to report for a physical. If he's fit, he's going to get assigned to a post his MOS qualifies him for.
