What's happening in NOLA (and the rest of the gulf coast) are full of tragedy and general mayhem. I've also been pondering about some more general points I've not see covered yet in the news...
1) Are people freaking out because they are being forced to go cold turkey on a substance of some kind? Surely there are at least some addicts who remain in the city and they would be running low on meth / heroine / etc supplies. Sometimes this can make a person go a little nutty. I wonder if that's happening anywhere? Perhaps causing violence? 2) Are there any data centers that got blitzed? Are there any significant data centers in the flood zone or in the destruction zone? Did the owners of these data centers build them like fortresses so that they are still standing? Are they still running under some disaster plan with generators and armed guards on the roof? For that matter are any businesses, government buildings, banks, etc doing this right now? 3) Are police search and seizure laws still respected? If I were a NO cop and it's 3 weeks from now after everyone's been chased outta town and they are draining / salvaging... Do I enter the now empty and partially destroyed home of a suspect who's suspected of a serious crime? What happens. If I find something seriously illegal like a drowned meth lab, evidence of a terroist cell, or some pedo stuff, am I allowed to use it as evidence against the owner of the washed out property? 4) I was wondering about the NO zoo - which Ray Camden also brought up. 5) I also wonder about what NO will look like 10 years from now. Will they react by building some super massive flood prevention system and a series of barriers out at sea? And most importantly, if they do build a super huge, super cool hurricane system will there be a Discovery channel special about how they did it? (I love those things) Anyway, just sharing my random thoughts. -Cameron -- Cameron Childress Sumo Consulting Inc http://www.sumoc.com --- cell: 678.637.5072 aim: cameroncf email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Discover CFTicket - The leading ColdFusion Help Desk and Trouble Ticket application http://www.houseoffusion.com/banners/view.cfm?bannerid=48 Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:5:171942 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:5 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
