Ben In the low carb newsgroup they have discussed this frequently - apparently cholesterol problems are far more related to genetics than diet!! One can eat a diet very low in cholesterol and still have a cholesterol problem!! The body produces the bad cholesterol itself, causing the problem. Most of the folks I know who lost weight on a low carb diet had an increase in cholesterol initially and then a big decrease. There is also a huge increase in the GOOD cholesterol (which apparently needs to be combined with the bad number in order to get a real reading) so overwhelmingly the cholesterol numbers have gone down in low carbers! --Beth, Pseudo usenet cop Merlin MTB, BikeE AT, RANS gliss, Trek R200, Kickbike Owned by Kavik (Samoyed Boy) and Toklat (Keeshond Boy) Anchorage, Alaska ----- Original Message ----- From: "Braver, Ben" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "CF-Community" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 9:37 AM Subject: RE: UDF parameters and Scope and muffins! > Sandy- > thanks much for the info and the links. > always good to learn something. > > question: how's your cholesterol? > (used to work with a serious vegetarian who ate dairy, his physician told > him his cholesterol was dangerously high) > > -Ben > > -----Original Message----- > From: Sandy Clark [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2002 9:22 AM > To: CF-Community > Subject: RE: UDF parameters and Scope and muffins! > > > Sorry to disturb your thinking Ben, > > I also did some diet research over the last few years after finding out that > I am on a fast track to diabetes.
