Before addressing Nick below ... for Jon. The way evolution is taught, at least as it 
was in my public school, is that it explains all existance and it is without question 
correct and the only answer. Evolution is also used support godless theories of 
determinism and secularism. In college biology, we covered evolution as well as 
creationism (about 1/100th of our time was spent on creationism). I don't see how you 
can divorce the two. The explanation for how and why we are here and how our universe 
operates is far more complex than science can deal with singularly, which you seem to 
admit to.  To not face that fact bluntly, as an educator, is just dumb.

As for Nick, what flaws might you point to?

Before you tread that water, what system of hermeneutics will you be using: literal? 
plenary? allogorical? textural?
