well, I hate to break it to ya, but that's not how it works in the
movies!  In the movies, we all have time to make it to the mountains
and sometimes even send a shuttle up to rendezvous with it.  Plus, we
have lots of time for all those sappy emotional reunitings.  I wonder
if the comets are tougher than the foam that keeps pelting the
shuttle.
