ooops....sorry, I thought we were talking about the cool kids... :) just kidding, but it does surprise me that you've had trouble with ubuntu. I've thrown it on several systems now and haven't had to really configure anything. Certainly a lot easier than just a few years ago. As for gaming....well, my budget made me give up on computer gaming. It was a stark realization that it was cheaper to buy a $400 console than to continuously ride the upgrade bandwagon and I still don't think I was ever able to play a game at full resolution, full detail. ;)
