Gruss-

It's really not fair to argue against something you refuse to admit to
being "too lazy" to attempt to understand in depth. I know you're a fan
of free markets and personal responsibility so I *KNOW* you will like
Fairtax once you understand how it works. I understand not wanting to
read a book about Economics. I've read enough Econ books to know they
are great to keep next to the bed, but the book isn't really needed to
understand the basics of Fairtax. I would recommend reading the book if
you really want to understand it's motivations and impact in greater
depth. Just like most Economic concepts, it's really something you have
to try to understand and learn about.

What we are discussing isn't a trivial matter - we aren't talking about
whether or not the Patriots really are the greatest team NFL in history,
we are talking about fundamentally changing the way this nation pays for
it's infrastructure, common defense, and other national interests. It's
not something that can or should be explained on the back of a napkin.

However, I can understand the need for brevity. Check out the link
below, and read the drilldowns for the "Fairtax Five" found on the
page. It's only three pages or so or reading and specifically answers
the biggest questions being brought up here.
