You might be right - you might be wrong, but giving up just because it's 
difficult isn't right.  Not for something as economically (and socially) 
important as this.

You got that right - people are easier to control with it around.  It's 
a tool used by both parties to influence and control behavior.  Tax 
breaks for all sorts of special interests.  TONS of special 
interests...  Exceptions all over the place are used to buy loyalty to 
the current system.  It also makes it VERY expensive to maintain.
