That would have been sheer stupidity if the US had. That would have started WWIII with all its mutual destruction protocols etc. Not sure about you but I look terrible glowing in the dark. As for Iraq, the US military was not equipped for insurgency war and at the same time a conventional war. Moreover there has been no real provocation from those countries. With the vague association of Iran and the Shia, those other countries are less of a threat than Iraq was.
