We are trying to set up a network share on a Vista machine and connect to it with a XP box. I've heard that this can be a headache, and it appears to be true. I've googled for help and tried to find instructions online, but it still won't work.
We have disabled Norton's firewall and added an exception to windows firewall for port 80. We have confirmed that both machines have the same workgroup. The network share on Vista has everyone as a co-owner. We can see the vista machine on the xp box, but not the share. If I try to explore the vista machine via the network, I get: \\vistamachine is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out is you have access permissions. The network path was not found. Thanks for any help. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:267377 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
