+1 To paraphrase a quote... "it's not God I have a problem with... it's his fan club".
I don't hate Obama. When it came down to who to choose, yes... I did think that McCain had more experience and I was a bit worried by Obama's vision of change, but no clear plan of how to accomplish that change. But what really got to me, and still does, is the overzealousness of the Obama supporters. Obama can do no wrong. McCain can do no right. I'm sorry, but when I see somebody with *such* an extreme position, that scares me. And on this list alone (and on Twitter), I've been inundated by that for the past few months. Go ahead and argue that I'm imagining it. I'd expect nothing less. Hell, even the "McCain supporters boo'd... Obama supporters would *never* do that" follows the same lines of zealot-like thinking. How can you know? Obama didn't lose. You don't know what Obama followers would have done in that situation. Hey, I hope as much as you do that he can be that agent of change. I hope he can actually deliver half as much as the Obama supporters seem to believe. You can say "I told you so" until you're blue in the face and I don't care... I'll be thrilled that we're making progress. Doesn't matter to me whether it was "my guy" or not. But seriously... you people scare the ever-loving shit out of me. And I say that with love :) On Wed, Nov 5, 2008 at 12:08 PM, Scott Stroz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I just know was able to put a finger on what bothered me so much about the > Obama campaign and, more to the point, Obama supporters. > > They remind me of of Mac/Apple zealots. > > The seemingly blind adoration. > The never ending criticism of the other side. > The air of arrogance and disdain against those who do not feel that their > guy/product is far superior. > The lines of people who wait to drink from their leader's mule. > > Yep, that's it.
