It _has_ been on the radar for years. If you have been reading the threat assessments, even the public ones, coming out of Washington, it has been a growing concern for 2+ years. Even we on cf-comm had a very long thread about it last fall.
We know the names of the pirates. We know the houses they live in. We know their bank accounts. So far, they have not threatened _American_ interests to the point where we have felt the need to take direct action. We stomped them this weekend. The next question becomes - do they want to escalate, or to put us in the class of people that make the "costs of doing business" too high. Because this is not ideological. It is criminal. And they are in it for the easy money. So I personally think they will probably learn to steer away from our shipping, and now maybe that of the French. There are still plenty of companies willing to pay their outrageous ransoms. On Mon, Apr 13, 2009 at 11:12 AM, Dana <dana.tier...@gmail.com> wrote: > > ok. I am fine with that.
