The Ketosis Gruss is referring to is also known as Benign Dietary Ketosis. Basically its when your body burns fat for energy rather than carbs. The stuff to be worried about is ketoacidosis
>From Wikipedia: Ketoacidosis is an extreme and uncontrolled form of ketosis, which is a normal response to prolonged fasting. In ketoacidosis, the body fails to adequately regulate ketone production causing such a severe accumulation of keto acids that the pH of the blood is substantially decreased. -----Original Message----- From: Greg Morphis [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, June 01, 2009 2:01 PM To: cf-community Subject: Re: blood sugar!! wtf?? Yeah lots of protein.. I try to eat almonds twice a day for their benefits.. For about the last week this is what my diet has consisted of: Breakfast -- egg substitute (1/4 cup), real bacon pieces (maybe a tablespoon or 2), little sprinkle of cheese and a slice of dry toast (low carb) snack - 1 oz of almonds or a slice of summer sausage (or lunch meat - ham) and a piece of cheese Lunch - 6 oz beef or chicken, green beans or a small salad snack - 1 oz of almonds or a slice of summer sausage (or lunch meat - ham) and a piece of cheese Dinner - chicken wings (5) or more beef and green beans I need to add variety in there.. but ever since I started the lowest I've seen my blood sugar is 76 and the highest is 109. Not sure Ketosis is, I'll have to google it heh On Mon, Jun 1, 2009 at 12:45 PM, Gruss Gott <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Greg wrote: >> >> That's what my blood sugar is down to.. my net carbs average around >> 25ish grams.
