Yes, that was sarcasm. She was using white to refer to Caucasians just as black is used in reference to African Americans. As a racial descriptor it either should be capitalized along with Latina or they should both be lower-cased. I wonder how much trouble I'd get into by describing people of a Latin American background as browns (in comparison to whites).
