How about the fact that reports on the story include that she *got the flu* ten
days after getting the shot and that as a result got the (much disputed)
dystonia? Hello??!! A flu shot does NOT cause the flu, it is inactivated virus,
it cannot cause the flu. It can however fail and allow someone to still get
ill, particularly if they did not have enough time to develop immunity. And
that's even assuming the vaccine was the same as the type of flu she got and
assuming that her reporting of what she had and/or what doctors told her is
accurate. Even if she does turn out to have dystonia (which seems unlikely
considering the number of neurologists actively disputing that diagnosis) it
certainly cannot be traced to the shot, when she clearly had other issues going
on. The fact that the anti-vaccine crowd is using this to spread their agenda
is just laughable, if anything it's actually a good indication of *why* it is
important to vaccinate even for something as seemingly minor as the flu.
