Palestinian side? You mean the side that Israel got from Jordan? The side that Jordan took over and then lost? It was never Palestinian. Arab, maybe, but not Palestinian. Lets not play word games and be honest. A settlement is a new entity. Jerusalem is a city. And the status of Jerusalem is open to negotiation by the two sides, not to the whim of a third entity. There have been compromises on Jerusalem offered and repeatedly rejected by the Palestinians. Look it up, you'll see. The last one was made to Abbas by the previous administration - and rejected without counter offer.
