Last night I came across a blog entry from a home schooler talking about the 'socialization' thing and she had a great response to the question: 'Don;t you worry about them socializing with other children?' She said, 'Go down to the closest public school and watch the hallways and tell me the behavior you think my child should emulate.' Loved it. @Judah - you bring up an interesting point about the makeup of homeschool groups. The group we belong to is more racially diverse than when I was in public school. There are not only families if different races, but inter-racial families as well. Now, I will say that every one else in the group is Catholic as its based in a Catholic church. But we reenforce that other people have different beliefs and that we need to be tolerant of those who have different beliefs.
