We established a national bank long ago.

What do you think the federal reserve BANK is?

I'm just not seeing the socialist machine, myself.

Did we get single payer health insurance? No, we required everyone to
buy insurance from private, frequently for-profit, companies.

Did we establish a national bank? No, we loaned them money, in some
cases in exchange for non-voting equity stakes, and are letting them
pay us back as quickly as possible.

Take over auto manufacturers? See banks.

Did we establish a national oil company? No, Obama is proposing to
increase oil exploration and leasing opportunities for private
companies that aren't even using the existing permits they already
have.

Energy, finance, health care, automotive...all the big sectors that
are most commonly public properties in socialist countries have had
their private industry control kept in place or usually strengthened
under the Obama administration. I do believe that he isn't pushing
for small government, his administration likes the power, but he is
firmly a corporatist and I'd love to see examples of what you consider
to be his socialist machine.
