The question was posed to me today whether our organization needs
email archiving.

We are a "Professional Employment Organization" which means we
co-employ our client's employees and pay them under our federal ID.
Clients range from mom & pop pizza joints to neurosurgery specialists
to health clubs to pharmacies.  That said, I only maintain email with
regards to the HR (personnel issues), payroll, benefits management
(paying the bills, enrolling, etc - NOT the services provided for a
member) and accounting needs of the clients and their employees.

I'm not sure of the answer so I figured with the CF-Comm knowledge
base someone might have a suggestion.
