Email archiving can be a good CYA tactic in some cases. The one that
immediately leaps to my mind is harassment cases, but I'm sure there are
others. From what you describe I'd guess you probably don't NEED email
archiving but it wouldn't be a bad idea to take a second look. We have a
monster of an email archiver from Barracuda, but then we've got monster
legal obligations in that area.

Subject: Email Archiving - Do we need it?

The question was posed to me today whether our organization needs
email archiving.

We are a "Professional Employment Organization" which means we
co-employ our client's employees and pay them under our federal ID.
Clients range from mom & pop pizza joints to neurosurgery specialists
to health clubs to pharmacies. That said, I only maintain email with
regards to the HR (personnel issues), payroll, benefits management
(paying the bills, enrolling, etc - NOT the services provided for a
member) and accounting needs of the clients and their employees.

I'm not sure of the answer so I figured with the CF-Comm knowledge
base someone might have a suggestion.

Thanks!

Hatton
