If a one year old was smoking I think I'd have bigger issues :)

But yeah, she got the trach because of a combo of croup, cold and rotovirus
(plus scarring from neonatal intubation) her airway was the size of ball
point pen tip.. 

The secretions while she was sick were uhmm... damn (yeeech)

Gush away my friend. Sorry to hear that the medical stuff is messed up
but I'm glad things seem to be working out ok.

And on a side note, I've done a fair bit of work with bodily fluids
and I have to say, suctioning trach tubes I find the most disgusting.
At least your daughter isn't a smoker :)
