I'll put my Debian laptop up against your MBP for speed any time :P As for ease of use...meh. I'm a Debian user. Debian's good for people who want to have control over every little detail of the system setup. You really can't have that kind of control over the system and user friendliness in the same package (though once I've got everything set up my systems are usually pretty easy to use to).
Apple's proven that people will overpay for products that are perceived as cool and easy to use. Frankly I find Macs painful to use, just like every other system that wants to set everything up for me. Give me a collection of conf files and I'm happy. Force me to use a GUI with only a few options and I'm frustrated. Then again I don't exactly go around telling people they should run Debian either, so to each his own. -----Original Message----- From: Ras Tafari [mailto:rastaf...@gmail.com] Sent: Thursday, October 21, 2010 8:38 AM To: cf-community Subject: Re: Facetime for Mac... keep livin the dream amigo... someday you will see... listen, i dont like jobs, or apple for any other reason than the computing equipment ive gotten from them has PROVEN beyond a shadow of a doubt, that they've figured something out... something that left me frustrated, and bored for 14 years of a programmers life... i honestly feel like ive been liberated from some shackles made in washington state... it started when i shed outlook from my stack a year ago, and now im wholly out of the office suite, a pc, and slow loading frustration! when you open your laptop up, and waiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit, ill be whizzing by on my beautiful little metal creation, typing away whilst you wait for yours to come up to the ctrl alt delete screen. hahahaha ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:329508 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
