You know, typically I am totally against the State interfering in individual
choice.

But in this matter there are a few other factors to consider.

1) The types of Fast Foods that people are consuming is adversely affecting
their health.
2) These people who's health is affected are putting a strain on public
healthcare.
3) The advertising messages of these corporations is completely at odds with
the actual effects of the food.
4) They market to children, who are at an even greater health risk.
5) The food is dirt cheap, meaning that if 1 and 2 is true, the people
affected are those that can least afford to deal with the resulting health
issues.

With all this information, and a health crisis of Obesity already upon the
public, wouldn't it be irresponsible for Government NOT to attempt to
educate and protect the public as much as possible?
