I don't see how the solution to a problem is to get rid of another
solution to the problem that's not optimal.

How do you see us solving the problem?

And if it's "let people die in the streets, because they 'deserve' it,
due to the 'choices' they made", well, I can respect that, but I won't
go for it. And not because I might be "that person" someday, but
because I think "we" are better than that. "We" have the resources
needed in spades.

Hell, we spend huge amounts on "defense", and how often have you
complained about that? It's always "social program" this, and "social
program" that. "We're going bankrupt trying to care for people!",
never: "we're going bankrupt killing folk and building awesome
weapons!".

So what is it? Is it the money alone? The idea that people should be
able to take care of themselves? What galls you so much about X but
not Y?

It's like, the main problem with "overpopulation" isn't the number of
people, it's the "footprint" size. Killing off a bunch of people is
an easy solution, I guess, but doesn't strike me as the best, or even
optimal, one.

Bah. Maybe we should focus on the things we agree on, like legalizing
weed. Think of how much money we could save across the board.

Seems like everybody here agrees on that one, neh? Bunch of pot heads! =)

(just kidding, I know there's several people here that don't partake,
yet still support the cause)

But anyways...

LEGALIZE IT!
