True, and a very valid consideration when one might be making a buy 
versus rent decision.  On the other hand, there is the ongoing cost of 
upgrades, once you do buy into the product for the time you continue to 
use it.  If you factor that in every couple of years and the 
subscription is probably, reasonably competitive.

Since some will choose choice A and others choice B, I'm rather happy 
both choices exist.  Now if, --and when--, Adobe decides that 
subscription is the ONLY option.  Then I would be much more pessimistic 
about their business decisions.
