They have a new thing called a Go car. You have parking lots in various spots around the city and you pre-arrange to pick up a car and then return it to any of the lots in the city or something like that. They are all hybrids or electric cars too. I live out in the far western burbs...none of the hassles of the city and just a 45 min to 1 hr Metra ride in when I want to take advantage of one of the positives the city has to offer (which are many). One of the things I have been wanting to look into is joining a CSA (Check out localharvest.org) and start getting meat and veggies from local producers instead of the supermarket chains.

We used to rent a studio in Streeterville (and for the last 3 years might as well have as we had a hotel room downtown in the same location). Basically we used the above techniques, shopping at the local Fox and Obel every few days for organics (some treats snuck in there too - discipline!). Chicago is great town, but having had a place both downtown and in Wilmette I'd definitely prefer downtown to the 'burbs. If in doubt, try both: it's surprisingly easy (or not) to rent houses in the 'burbs and apartments downtow ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:339868 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
