Back in the day you could buy a BMW or Benz in Germany, get it
converted for use in the US and ship it. In the end it would cost the
same as buying it here but you get a trip to Germany. Problem is it's
not under warranty since it's gray market. I'm talking 30 years ago so
things might have changed.
