The confusion came from how I interpreted this statement from you:

"This is NOT the fault of food corporations or any of that crap...this is a
result of the pussification of the American parent."

When you switched from saying McDonalds to "food corporations" I
thought you were broadening the argument and saying that basically all
the food-related health problems in the US stem from parents who don't
say no to things. That's the view that gets my hackles up. If all
you're saying is that SF shouldn't be able to ban Happy Meals, I'm
there with you and that should be dealt with through better education
and food choices, not banning McDonald's. On the other hand, there is
a whole lot wrong with America's food web and it is precisely a
calculated effort on the behalf of some of the countries largest
corporations (like Monsanto and ConAgra) with the tacit cooperation of
the governmental bodies that ought to be regulating them (FDA and Dept
of Ag)
